Brutal trade for the Devils. Awful. Mercer's years of control have far more value than one year of Nylander.

Kinda remember Willy hitting 60 points when he was Mercer's age. I should hope Nylander is scoring more than Mercer at this point in his career.

Put it this way. Would you rather have Mercer putting up 65-75 points average at 7 million for the next 8 or Willy peaking at 90 points and likely tapering off in the next few years paying 10 million +?

Leafs want cap space bc they don’t have a lot with it… Unless it’s a dramatic overpay… Which it isn’t here
