Description
I’m prepared to be called dumb names for this, and maybe it doesn’t make sense but with the GM’s involved you cant suggest this is impossible to execute.

If I did the math right

Vancouver saves 2 million in cap

OTT frees up ~3 million to sign pinto to a bridge

Chicago gets two picks for taking on Joseph on a 3x3.

This is a very barebones proposal but I could see this happening much to the dismay of OTT fans and probably Vancouver fans too.

So the Canucks give up Myers with 2M retained and a 3rd for Brannstrom? I’d do that. Not sure if Ottawa does this though

I might of misunderstood your trade proposal, might help to summarize it in description. Is it this?

    Van:
    In: Brannstrom
    Out: 3rd, Myers (2M retained)

    Ott:
    In: Myers (@4M)
    Out: Brannstrom, Joseph, 3rd

    Chi:
In: Joseph, 3rd (Van), 3rd (Ott, conditional)
    Out: n/a

    Is this correct?

If so, I'm not sure how Ottawa gains 3M in cap space. Myers, with 2M retention from Vancouver, would have a 4M cap hit for Ottawa. Joseph (3M) + Brannstrom (2M) is 5M. So Ottawa gains ~1M of cap space from this deal, not 3.

The idea isn’t bad. If 2M gets retained on Myers by both CHI and VAN then your money sailings is correct. The question would be does each team have a spot for the player they’re acquiring

As it stands, probably not. Ott has no nterest in Myers or any room for his cap hit. If Myers stayed on Chicago though , that would probably be more appealing.

Yes, the intention was to double retain on Myers.

Appreciate the work but this is quite bad for Ottawa

Instead of using a lot of words and stats, I'll just put 3 images here

    Sens don't want to :

    - move Joseph to get a much worse player in Myers and 1 M$ additional cap

    - give Brannstrom and 3rd to save 1 M$ cap space in the end

Even then I wouldn't like it.

I know it’s bad for Ottawa I just feel like it’s the kind of move that would happen. Think of it like Hammonic 2.0.

I was editing at my garage but my car was ready so had to go, just came home to finalize the editing

The difference is Ottawa WANTED Hamonic. Gotta hope that they don't WANT Myers.

If there is double detention, it's not as bad because it means you downgrade Myers to Brannstrom and dump Joseph full salary for a 3rd but still hope it doesn't happen.

So the hawks take on 2m retained salary, 3m for 3 years in Mathies all for a 3rd rounder and conditional 3rd rounder? I'm not sure I'd even take Matheis for 2 3rd round picks. Not to mention 2m from Myers and a retention slot.
