Rathbone could run your PP. He's NHL ready.

If he could run a PP, either Vancouver wouldn’t trade him, or if they did he would get much more than a 4th

Maybe he shows something in training camp, but it’s more likely he clears waivers than is running a PP unit in the NHL.

We have 2 of those already. Both left handed and both immensely better at running PPs.

However, one is paid too much for that to be their job. And the other can’t stay healthy.

Regardless there’s little to no reason for the Blues to trade a 4th for a LHD that would be 9-10 on our depth chart. We have lots of those.

I could see the Pens entertaining that trade, since we have Ty Smith too, but it would just depend on how training camp shakes out.

tears of joy

That's some funny stuff. Sorry, the Blues do not need anyone to run their power play, and they certainly don;t needs any more small LDs who can't defend to save their lives.

Neither can stay healthy. Rathbone would just be the pp specialist. Play bottom pair sheltered minutes.

We have Quinn Hughes and now Hronek. Rathbone is immensely skilled offensive dman. He just doesn't fit because he needs to be sheltered and we don't need what he brings as much as other teams.

I don’t think tripling down is a great idea when we already have 9 defenseman on one ways. Especially when it’s the root of a lot of our issues.
