Yes it very well could be, but he has 1yr left on his Contract and if he falters and has another inconsistent year. IMO be lucky to get a Borgen type player.

We will next year, and Mitts has never even come close to what Tage did. Yes he's a RFA with a 2.6mill Qualifying Offer. And if he drops back to his 25pt eclipse of before. I have 4 young kids ready to take that spot and a decent RD young enough to grow with the team.

That's cool, have No problem with that. Hope he realized it to. And Borgen had basically the same Numbers as Clifton and is 2 years younger. And Clifton is skating with Dahlin. Funny how the Sabres tried that Borgen Dahlin pairing a few years back. Actually looked decent together before Borgen broke his forearm.

Oh and it wasn't my trade proposal. It was originally a 2nd for Mitts from a Seattle fan and I said I don't think Buffalo would trade him for a late 2nd which Seattle's pick has a good chance of being later in the 2nd. I just countered if it came to it I would rather have Borgen than the 2nd.

That’s definitely true. Borgen does a lot more favors for us than another pick. Given that Johnson will be gone after the season, a permanent spot would open up for Borgen. But to make that trade right now would be silly because they just gave up Lyubushkin because they didn’t have room for him.

Maybe toward the trade deadline if it seems like Mitts is not going to be resigned. Particularly if Borgen is the kind of player the team covets, and wants to be part of the core long-term. I wouldn’t make the deal right now, especially with Quinn being hurt the Sabres need more NHL bodies at forward than they do on defense.
