Opening Night Roster

Created by: TMLBRIAN

Description
This is my preferred opening night roster. Still only 20 man though. If they trade Lafferty for a pick, they can run a 21 man.

I traded Timmins for a waiver exempt RD and a low end pick. Timmins on Colorado's 3rd pair does seem like a solid option. Leafs get a RD who they can call up and send down at will.

I would love to try Knies-Willy-Robertson. Robertson played as a RW in the AHL last year.

We will see what they do. They are talking highly of Gregor right now also. I signed him but sent him to the AHL in this AGM.

Thoughts?

If we move him, it probably looks something closer to the Carrick trade

I was looking up Sam Carrick and it didn't make sense. I forgot about Connor Carrick.

Thanks for posting. No need for the attitude though.

Avs decline. They just signed malinski they wouldn't trade him in the same summer. I'd give a 4th for Timmins though, maybe a 3rd if it was a couple years away

Idk if it's a good idea to put a ppg JT on the 3rd line and give more ice-time to 2 rookies. Then hope they produce with Nylander, a guy they are seeing if he can play center. Imo the leafs are playing Willie at C in pre-season because their going with 11-7 and a 20 man roster. Lafferty-fill in- Reaves are the 4th line. Matthews, JT, Kamp and Willie filling in at 4C. Everyone has their own opinion, but to put JT or Willie at 3C and give other players more ice-time doesn't make any sense to me.

Avs decline that trade. They'd take the chance on whether Timmins hits waivers.

Fair - I assume Timmins would get scooped up on waivers by someone. I doubt he reaches Colorado. But you never know. Stranger things have happened.

Oh I imagine he would get taken by somebody and probably doesn't fall to the Avs. I'm sure the Avs would consider a 4th, maybe even a 3rd for him, but they're pretty high on Malinski and only just signed him. He'd just be the wrong 'item' to target in the trade.

Honestly you're better off keeping Timmins and running 11-7

That's what I am leaning to also. But in this scenario we get a pick and a waiver exempt RD back. It would give us a lot more flexibility.

Our RD depth is hurting. I hope we can add one more NHL ready waiver exempt RD (while maybe even keeping Timmins).
