I know this might look crazy but here me out, hopefully we don't get to a point where we need to shuffle our lines this significantly but if we did, just listen to this longshot:
1. Its only recently that Crosby has started playing on a line with 2 stars, before he'd turn 4th liners into 40 point players
2. It looks like Vinnie is gonna start on the top unit while Guentlzle is out, so we'll have a look at how this works before we need to make a drastic shuffle like this
3. Rust and Henestroza were linemates at Notra Dame
4. This creates a third line that can compete with any first line. It would also fit the Pens idea of a third line that is very good Defensively and now that all of a sudden has two elite offensive weapons on it
5. It would not be hard for Guentzle and Rackell who already of chemistry together to build chemistry with Elhar
6. The "1 superstar on each of the top 3 lines" is the strategy that lead to the 2016 cup run
None of that will happen. Vinnie will not be on the top line when the season starts, lol. Stop drawing conclusions on line combos three days into camp. 😄

Time will tell, I just don't think they would put Crosby with a random player while they're trying to figure out who takes Guentzle's spot
Id honestly like the idea of something like this day one/when Guentzel is back however id swap the lines a bit. The idea of having 2 good/great players and one complementary player on line 1-3 would allow Sully to truly role all 3 lines and give us much needed scoring depth
Why wouldn’t they? They’re going to go through about a half dozen guys to try and find something that fits.
yea, "find something that fits"
I don't think they put Vinnie their without thinking he's an option and from what the media has been saying it seemed to work, plus the rust connection.
I do believe they'll try other thing but they certainly did not just put vinnie there because he had to be somewhere. Ik we're not supposed to read into week 1 lines but I think we can read a little bit into who plays on sids left wing because of the current situation
I would have said the same pre camp but between the Rust connection, the sully connection, the fact he's working with Sid, and that many media members are saying he's looking good I really think he will now

Lol, this guy making a case less than a week into camp. Of course Vinnie’s an option, don’t be so willfully ignorant, because so are a half-dozen other guys. You can bet we’ll see many of them. They haven’t even played a pre-season shift together and you’ve cobbled together a game one lineup. 🤣
