He'll be on LTIR for a couple of months at least. The point of including him was to make cap room for Colorado, though for all intents and purposes he could be moved in a separate trade unless Ottawa or the 3rd team want him.

In that scenario is it a 3-teams trade and Francouz goes to Arizona?

I mean, if Ottawa creates the cap space they need and Colorado get an useful forward, then it's a good trade.

If Arizona wanted picks and prospects why wouldn’t they just call up Ottawa themselves?

I think colorado has a ton of options for the 4c spot, literally every forward in camp is gunning for it.

Kirivanta, tufte, olofsson, Meyers, Holland.

Joseph is good but Frankie when healthy is worth more to the avs, annunen looks good so there is no rush until he has a terrible couple games

COL doesn’t need a $2M bottom 6 guy that doesn’t play center.

Maybe they don't want to take on the entire contract, just 950k.

I don't think OTT would be able to be cap complaint and would in a terrible spot to use their entire LTIR relief pool on a Pinto signing. They'd have almost no way to recall players and would run an extremely thin roster until he returns, in which they'd need to make a move to become compliant. They also wouldn't accrue any cap space for the trade deadline. I'd venture to say they'd almost have to move someone to make this work out, LTIR doesn't create cap space. It creates cap relief if a team exceeds their ACSL. They are already maxed out in terms of cap space so I can't see this working out, but LTIR is complicated and I might be missing something.

Then you’re tying up a retention slot for 3 years for what? A 3rd round pick? Not particularly necessary when you have as many 2nd round and later picks as Arizona. If Pierre ever got desperate enough to cough up a 1st then that makes sense, but that’s not going to be happen

Arizona are already using two retention slots, they won’t use the last one for 3 years of Joseph …

Maybe they don't want Joseph, or his full caphit. Ottawa would probably be reluctant to trade their own 1st, but if they could get another teams late 1st that might be workable... So Arizona would get a 1st even though Ottawa don't want to trade theirs.

Francouz is never healthy though....

Annunen doesn't look good at all. Poor lateral mobility and rebound control.

Get him down to $1.475m then smile

But yeah I get your point. I was just playing with the idea of what it would look like if the Avs wanted to get involved for Joseph. I don't think CMac would trade a 1st or something high for a bottom 6 forward, at least not without it being a pressing need right now.

Good point.

Yeah maybe Arizona is not the right team for that, they have so many picks already and using their last retention spot for another 3rd might not interest them

Which is another reason not to aquire him.. agcm had him at centre.

Francouz won't be healthy for the start of the season, there is no timetable beyond that, georgiev played 60 games last year I believe, not going to be that big of a deal off the start..

They have 2 back to back games between now and March.. Nov 25 and Dec 16.

Annunen can play 2 games

He looks fine, the avs have 2 back to backs between now and March.. plenty of time to let Frankie heal.

I'm not sure why you would want to aquire Joseph at 2mill or even retained, Philly told Ottawa they want a first to take Joseph. Guy doesn't play the one open position your team has
