Three Team Trade Would Have To Be Done

Created by: Leafsmustwin
Team: 2023-24 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 26, 2023
Published: Sep. 26, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This would be a three team trade which do not really work in this ACGM. Nylander would go to the team offering PHI the package they want back which added to the 1st we give would be a good offer for the trade. This a team that could win a cup, way more depth and using a 3rd line center that actually makes sense. You can play your 3 lines of defense much more even minutes so not killing the top pair anymore. Adds depth at every forward line. Adds more grit to team where it is needed.

Only an angry person sees everything everyone else says as angry. This is laughable. It's understandable, when someone gets up and spouts off nonsense they have convinced themselves is true despite extremely evidence to the contrary, and that is met with laughter, I am certain that makes you mad. So you rationalize it away by convincing yourself the people laughing are angry. It's a rough cycle man

Lol wut? Dude I'm not angry. I just don't get how you think me not wanting a deal that hurts the Leafs means that I want the Leafs to lose? Like you keep saying I am not wanting a trade that easily helps the Flyers win, which should mean that I want the Flyers to lose if I don't want the trade? So how I am biased against the Leafs if I am denying a trade that would hurt them? What kind of 4-D chess are we playing here?

This trade would be a slam dunk steal for the Flyers if they were competitive, but trading away one of their best under-25 guys on a very friendly deal for a star who's gonna make our tank fail and make us a bottom 10 team instead of a bottom 5 team doesn't make sense.

Hell even in this proposed scenario we don't keep Nylander, we are flipping him for stuff which would likely be an extra first and a good prospect. Sure it could help but Tippett is showing to be a true goal scorer, something the Flyers desperately lack. He's also contract controlled as an RFA compared to Nylander is a UFA demanding big cash.

All in all it doesn't make sense for the Leafs or the Flyers so who cares? We good?

Contending teams won't pay to add 50% RS to a rental player. All the teams are against the cap so they'll need RS to even make it work. An extra 50%, sure I could see teams footing the bill for that. Dallas would be good to add but they'll want to keep Bourque, Stankoven, and Wyatt, so who's the forward prospect going back in that deal? Martino, a solid bottom-six upside player, if you're lucky?

I don't have any ill-will against Nylander or Toronto, just observing as a Flyers fan. Unless they have a deal in place to flip Nylander again immediately, I'd rather be on the safe side and keep a near 30-goal scorer and the de facto captain versus a player who could very well walk if there is no deal in place.

You are just proving my point. You can't possibly believe no one would want Nylander.

I'm not arguing that nobody will want Nylander. My argument is that the teams who meet the maximum return on a trade for him are limited and that historically, teams do not get a large return on rental players. Unless the Flyers have a deal in place to immediately trade Nylander, I'd rather not take the risk on giving up younger core roster players for him. We all agree that Nylander is a great player and would be a driving force in any team's push for the cup. But there is few teams that would be willing and able to meet the ideal price for him at the deadline.

Rationalizing your ridiculous argument. That's all this is. You are literally getting a 1st to take Nylander and it costs your 2 players that will never match what Nylander beinga.

When you think the only rational leaf fans are guys who say no leaf has any value, that just proves how irrational you are.

You still on about this? Bro I said that Nylander had more value and that it didn't make sense for either team because of position and you called me irrational. I'm beginning to think you didn't read half the things I said.

Edit: Leafs should keep Nylander but shouldn't expect a king's ransom if he wants out unless he's coming with an extension. Nylander had stated he wants to stay in Toronto.

Turning this down makes no sense. It's ridiculous.

It makes no sense for Philly to say no when the leafs are literally paying you to take Nylander and you get to swap him out for triple the value. It's just ridiculous so say otherwise. Irrational even

I mean we probably wouldn't get three times back cause this would define trade value for him, but yeah it makes no sense for Toronto.

Lol what? No this doesn't define his value. This is a horrible trade for TO. Horrible. If Treliving did this, he would be entering Chiarelli level awful. All that will happen is the Leafs would be a laughing stock and Philly gets to reap the benefits. Seeing it any other way is just silly.

No I meant hypothetically if this trade were to take place it would set his value would be determined by this. Nobody would pay a team three times the price for a flipped guy. In this scenario he gets traded for Tippett and Laughton, so if the Flyers try flipping him they'll get that similar return because other GMs won't pay more if they knew that's whatthey could've gotten the player for.

Realistically Nylander is worth far more, my whole post was a hypothetical. This will never happen.

That's ridiculous. If this was offered by the leafs they are just making a terrible terrible trade. That in no way lowers Nylander's value. He's still worth a major haul. This isn't a major haul.

All this does is gift Philly his immense value. Not set it as almost negative.

You aren't getting it. I'm saying he has high value and Toronto would be gifting them it, but if the Flyers immediately try to flip him nobody will want to pay higher because they would be thinking "if they got him for that much, why should we pay higher?" At no point have I stated that Nylander isn't valuable, because if I did I would be lying.
