I would love the idea of sending a player down to get around the cap and not losing Joseph. However, it has been reported Pinto will likely need 2.5 M to get him signed and this is a tricky play with the waiver wire. Joseph would be lost to waivers the minute he became available.

I'm more concerned with JBD being gone on waivers for nothing, This roster is tough to imagine because a 20 man roster is not the ideal play. If Joseph is not picked up, then we are still on the hook for 1M+ against our cap. At 2.95 on a 3 year deal I doubt he gets picked up with the current NHL cap situation around the league.

Creative but far fetched , pretty certain the first player to get plucked off of waivers would be JBD ….not to mention going with a 20 man roster and 50k in cap space is like driving around with the needle on empty knowing you still have enough gas to get to the next station.
