Don't want Carter back and even if we did we don't have the cap space for him. We have 130k in cap space so we would have to clear almost 1.5m just to take him on. Kings pass.

Nope, all 4 of our centers had more points then him last season and are more defensively responsible. He might be better in the faceoff circle but thats not enough to take a spot from anyone on the Kings roster.

You continue to labor under the delusion that Carter is, at this stage, an NHL level forward despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Do you think a team can put a player on LTIR just because they don’t want to play him?

To be put on LTIR you have to be injured, to be injured you have to play, to play you have to be on the roster. Like I said even if he got injured first game of the season it would still put us 1.5m over cap. Retiring Carter as a Kings isn't worth the penalty next season. If he wants to retire as a King we can sign him to a 1 day contract next season. Quick meant a lot more to the Kings then Carter and they didn't do anything for him so they aren't gonna do anything for Carter.

How about PIT just plays him and when he gets hurt they put him on LTIR?

If Carter had zero impact on the cap from the beginning of the season to the end and didn't cost us anything sure we might consider it. However we aren't gonna pay anything for a guy we aren't gonna use and like I said we wouldn't take him on if he is going to have any sort of cap space impact cause we have no cap space and aren't moving someone out or down to make space for Carter.

I'm not underrating him at all. He's good in the face off circle that's about all he contributes to a team now a days. If he was a valuable assets you wouldn't be trying to get rid of him for free while retaining 50% of his salary lol
