Hawks are saving those LD slots for the young guys. Korchinski, vlasic, kaiser, and Allan. They could use a young RD if any if those are available

This is enticing I think. Hawks have 4-5 extra bottom 6 players on NHL contracts. Offloading one of them for an area of extreme weakness is a good idea. Korchinski (WHL) and Allan (AHL) need at least another year of seasoning and Hawks' MO is to not rush prospects. So why put Korchinski in the NHL at age 19? Let him ripen in Seattle this year and join the team in end of March for a handful of games when his season is done. In the meantime, add another veteran to LD to help Kaiser and Vlasic.

First, Jimmy Murphy is not a credible source so I would suggest to not quote him.

Second, this is an awful trade for the Bruins. Entwistle is fringe NHLer and you're putting Lohrei in the top4 when he's likely not ready for the NHL. Even if he is, he should start on the 3rd pair to begin. If they trade Grzelcyk, it would have to be for an equal return, not a player you can claim every day on waivers.

Jimmy Murphy. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I think a better term for him than insider is makeup artist. Everything he says is made up.

That trade is terrible. A quality NHL d man for spare parts that can be found on waivers. 🙄

Grizz is likely a trade candidate at the deadline. Until then unless Lohrei is ready, and while impressive he is not as of yet, Grizz is needed.

I agree. Dont mind another LHD Veteran on a 1 year deal. If he gets scratched it doesnt hurt anything. Let Korchinski be 100% ready, let Allen get big minutes in Rockford. I dont hate this trade. Also does right by Entwistle if he's going to get sent down, give him a chance somewhere else.

As a Hawks fan, I'd do this for sure. Not sure why BOS would do it unless there's a larger move behind this one.

To my fellow Hawks fans. I fully understand what you're saying about our current LD situation and getting ice time for those prospects. I get it and don't disagree with ya. If a move like this is made...which I wouldn't be mad at...at all...it surely means Korchinski goes back to Seattle to work on his defensive game. Kaiser/Del Mastro certainly Rockford...good moves imo for each of them. Vlasic/Phillips/Roos...one of them goes back to Rockford and Tinordi sits on the bench and just plays the filler role...as he should. Besides, he'd certainly be a TDL flip and get further assets, no?

It wasn’t Murphy. If you followed the links I provided, both ‘stories’ were from someone named Auston Sabourin.

Whoever that guy is, the first link is 2 paragraphs with a poll and credits The Hockey Writer (which is not a credible source for rumors). The second one has really similar quotes to the original Jimmy Murphy article he published 2 days ago (NHL Scout: ‘Teams Are Interested In Grzelcyk’

In other words, that guy probably copied the article of Murphy while changing few words and made it look like his own which makes it even worse.

I agree that the last thing they should do is rush Korchinski, Hawks should let him develop at his own pace. Even with him in Seattle & Allan in Rockford, there is still Vlasic, Kaiser, Philips, & Roos to play on the left side. Why give Boston a pick to block ice time for them? the prospects Hawks drafted should get a chance to play. let the kids get the growing pains out of the way this year. The veteran RDs they are paired with can help the kids better than Grzelcyk could anyway.

I don’t see any benefit in this move for the Hawks.
