Isn't primeau waivers eligible?

Yup. So basically, best case scenario here is that the Avs run Georgiev/Primeau with Annunen/Holm in the AHL. And then once Francouz is healthy, you’re waiving someone. And you don’t have enough nets in your system.

In terms of value, I think a Beaucage/Primeau swap would be reasonable because it keeps the contract counts equal. Don’t really see a pick as reasonable.

Or you could just wait 3 days and have your pick of primeau, riemer/Lyons, comrie, jones, pickard, subban, whomever clb sends down, and more.

And spend nothing but cap space

Also my preference. I just mean that if the Avs (for some reason) are really interested in Primeau, a guy like Beaucage should be fair (keeps Avs at 45 contracts, let’s them skip the waiver line, and gives Montreal some return for a guy that’s out there for free).

I also don’t really think Beaucage is on track to be useful in the Avs system. Elite shot but hasn’t shown much. Could use a change of scenery.

What has Premieu done to be considered better than Justus?

Imo Primeau isn't passing waivers to our end so if we really want him I think this is fair, just drop the pick or 7th rounder at most

My problem in giving up an asset is primeau is basically a rental until Frankie returns.. also primeaus nhl numbers are bad, could be because MTL is bad but still

If primeau doesn't fall to us there is 8 other options just as good, only team I see snatching up a goalie is tampa

I have no idea. Goalies are voodoo. I just mean if one of the guys in Colorado’s front office decides that Primeau is the best stop gap option, then go ahead and give up Beaucage.

My own personal bias is that I’d rather the Avs just run Annunen or waiver claim whoever is around. But dangling Beaucage is just fine if you want more certainty imo.

C.P was really good in junior and college but hasnt been able to adapt at the same level in the pros. Really reluctant to give him nhl games even when winning isnt the goal. I really like him but anything C.P has done, Annunen did better against tougher competition.
Edit I was wrong about ahl
