Whats the point here for Calgary? Why are they paying a second and taking on a pending UFA as the seller here?

Jarnkrok actually holds zero value if he can't be flipped in time. Unless this is a 3-way deal at the deadline this makes no sense.

Double retention exists, if you need to dump someone to fit 1.125M on your roster you shouldn't be a GM
