Flames don't even pick up the phone. Gallagher is drifting towards cap dump territory and Huberdeau is bound to bounce back now that Sutter won't be stuffing him on the 3rd line

Gallagher isn’t drifting towards cal dump territory, he’s firmly in cap dump territory. Multiple 1sts to dump territory

That being said, Huberdeau’s contract is pretty brutal as well. But at least he’s still (at minimum) a solid top 6 player. Should somewhat bounce back this year but would still be overpaid

1st : Not enough for Huberdeau, need more.

2nd : That's only if he had another bad season like what happen under Sutter last season.

And that's from a Habs fan.

Wouldn't you have a crappie season playing a position you have never played,(yes its still winger but it's a bit different) playing with MILAN LUCIC for half a year? Sutter was an idiot with his lines, making horrible decisions like that

Huberdeau even returning to an 80-95 point player (which should be expected) makes him worth 9.5M of his 10.5M. Being 1M overpaid is far from brutal.

But how many years would he realistically be able to keep up that play? Already 30, coming off a down year, getting 10.5M until he’s 38 is a bad contract

Probably 5-6. Last year was not regression, it was an anomaly
