Pretty weak return for Boeser. Nucks aren't coughing up any more 2nd round picks either.

Remove the 2nd and the retention and the Canucks still say no. We aren’t retaining and paying to dump Boeser under any circumstances. This deal makes absolutely zero sense for Vancouver.

Why would the rangers trade Schneider for that? Or at all? Lol

Drury says add 5 years of 1st round picks and Knies and he will consider it. Absurd trade offer.

Then you aren't moving him. He just isn't good. Makes way too much money and is to slow and terrible defensively.

Then the Canucks will keep him as there’s no indication that they want to move him. Boeser is happy in Vancouver and the team is happy with him, they aren’t paying to move a good player just because he’s a little overpaid.

They can easily afford both unlike Lindgren is asking for a lot, which he doesn’t deserve

He's very overpaid. He's a 1 dimensional player who is too slow to contribute enough to warrant his liabilities. The canucks wanted to move him last year but couldn't because no one wanted to take his cap without a sweetener or retainment. This was reported several times.

The deal above should be equally returned with an absurd deal like Marner 50% retained for a 1st, but I won’t say that. It’s a no from the Rangers and we probably ignore any calls from the Leafs going forward.

It was more of a situation of media speculation that he wanted out based on them skewing one thing he said. All an effort to make flashy headlines to generate clicks. He's since said that he's happy in Vancouver and has specified that he's specifically talked with management about staying.

I agree that he's overpaid, but not enough to the point that the Canucks will be paying to dump him. Even though he doesn't contribute much defensively, he's still a 20 goal, 50 point player who ahs the potential to break out (he's had 2 seasons where he's been on pace for 70+, both of which were ended short, one due to injury, one due to covid). Yes, he's overpaid by a mil or two, but it's nowhere near bad enough that the Canucks are making their already bad cap situation worse by retaining on him for multiple years and still paying to dump him.

He's a big reason why your cap situation sucks.
