Description
I think we are a team that could potentially contend to a cup but I wouldn't say we're quite there yet. I think as of now were a team that will make the playoffs and can win series. Around 2-4 in the metro. Not a favorite to win the cup, but with 1-2 more trades I think we for sure have a chance.

Absolutely love the D. Think we are set there besides maybe getting a right D for the 3rd pair. Maybe someone with a little size and grit or a stay at home guy to help POJ.

As far as forward, that is where I think we should focus at the TDL. I think 1 of the younger guys breaking out plus 1 trade addition and we are a true contender. In terms of trade, the one thing I think we are missing is a Hornqvist/Tanev type player. Someone who is gritty, brings energy, and also has skill. Tough to find those types of players, but if anyone has ideas comment below. Overall that is my thoughts going into this season.

Overall, love the excitement around this year. This is the most excited I've been for the start of a season in a while and at the very least I think this team will be very exciting.

I agree with everything you said, but I'm not sure who you could even go after to be that energy and skill guy. I mean Garland sticks out to me, but he's a little small. Also, at the trade deadline, could look at Zucker coming back with retention to play on the third line.

for your point w/ grit and energy, Austin Wagner and Jansen Harkins provided that in the handful of preseason games they played.

HC Mike Sullivan also praised Wagner's game and personality in his short stint in September.

It seems as though he isn't getting a contract which sucks due to the fact he was one of our fastest skaters w/ physicality and PK ability.
(Oh, and he's only 26).

I would say at best 3rd in the Metro. Could easily be 5th - but most likely 4th fighting for a WC spot.

I really like the defense as well. Forward group worries me a bit though. Top 6 should be just as good - I actually think the bottom 6 is a little worse than last year. It seems like Dubas focused on defensive bottom 6 forwards - so my only hope is they're good enough defensively to break even. That's all we really need them to do. Overall I'd still say a decent improvement over last years roster.

I think Acciari will bring that grit that you're looking for. Maybe they can bring back Zucker at the deadline. I'd love Niederreiter at the TDL if at all possible.

I'd say on paper bottom 6 is worse but with the potential to be better. I don't know if that makes any sense haha, I feel like it's overall weaker but with new guys there and some younger players there's a good chance one of them exceeds expectations. I don't hate that plan, if not we can address it at deadline

Neidereiter, Zucker, Vrana (for speed) are some early TDL names I like

So far I’m impressed with Jarry. I hope he can continue looking so confident with his positioning.

Yup he looks good. Team looks kind of disjointed overall, but I think that's just because they have so much new talent. Think they'll be fine in a few weeks just hoping for the points tonight

I've been wanting Vrana since like 2018 - so I'm all aboard haha
