I predict any Garland trade will not involve retention on his contract. VAN won't want to do that for 3 years. More likely there's a swap of similar length contracts or for a lesser player with a one year deal.
Value wise? Fine. But it’s the Flyers and Penguins we are talking about, the two teams don’t trade between each other and if the Flyers were to help Pittsburgh improve their team it wouldn’t be for fair value it would be for an overpay

Pitlick and Smith are already in the AHL. You really don’t have to pass them through waivers again unless you call them up for whatever reason. But I do agree that Vancouver would decline. Unless they feel like Smith is good enough to be on the big club and stay on the big club.

Not necessarily. They are pretty limited on cap room. A lot of teams trade for players after they have cleared waivers because they trade contract for contract rather than taking on an extra contract.
