Description
Dach: #1 C for near future, plays great
Caufield: Our elite 45 goal sniper, as we expected
Newhook: Very good top 6 player that does things right
Slaf: Great game, great pass, good drive, tried to shoot, elite potential is definitely still there, takes good decisions
Suzuki: gonna max out as a 75-80 pt guy, gonna be MTL’s 2C, still a alright 1C if I am wrong about Dach
Guhle: His defense is crazy!
Xhekaj: Reaves who?
Allen: Not good, Monty got nothing to worry about
Monahan: Per usual, criminally underrated
Anderson: Nothing change, points might go up purely because of Cole
Harvey-Bedard: Why is he on the 4th line??

A.Matthews: Bruh, why did I draft Matty Tkachuk over him

For sure, so far, I’d even put him as 1 LD over Hutson (long term assuming Hutson comes relatively close to ceiling). Not sure Hutson has the defense to eat 24+ minutes a night, and Guhle will be a crazy 2-way beast

FYI, I’ve been saying it since the Habs summer scrimmage that Dach will be our 1C, and this game just adds to my evidence

oh i believe you. keep in mind that its also the suzuki line thats gets all the hard match up when they are away. im still skepctical about dach and his consistency. But of course i wont complain if he turns into a 1c!

Consistency and health could be an issue, but that should build up when he gets to 25, he still got time. My only big problem with Suzuki that makes me think Dach is better is that Suzuki seems to need someone to get points, while Dach legitimately makes his line-mates better

I like Dach, I think he will be really good but if he has any hope of being our 1C he had better figure out how to win some faceoffs 43% in the circle isn't even close to being a 1C it's even below a 4C average only Monahan had a worse time at the dot tonight at 33%

Heck of a game from the 80s. Not saying the coaches would be impressed by the loose play.
Good intensity but the continuity of the play....seemed like a preseason game. But for excitement, I'd take a full season of that type of game.

Again, he’s 22, he should figure it out. I’d assume he will grind faceoff practice next offseason and get to 48-52 range, which will be good enough

I don't mind waiting on him and it's only 1 game against either AM or JT so not trying to rip on him too much. I was just saying he needs to figure it out lol

idk, haven't seen enough of Caufield without Suzuki's pretty elite seam passing. For now, I'm still with the idea that the better faceoff guy is the more reliable guy. After one game, I'm liking these top 2 lines(move RHP to 1), and the 65% vs 43% on faceoffs is still a problem. What's good is that faceoffs are less of a skill thing. So Dacher can develop there.

Hoping to see more of that Newhook-Dach-Slaf line as it becomes a very good 2nd line. Not a bad thing to have a Bergeron-Krejci dynamic.

Am I the only that isn’t really impressed by Dach? I mean, he played great but I don’t see him score more than 70 pts in the near future. Newhook was much more impressive
