Can't see the Hawks using their 2nd retention slot for two years. Although Niemela would be a nice addition.

Kraken's idea is Borgen fits well with Oleksiak so no need to trade him.

I'll check back with you in a few months when the Kraken are (maybe) clinging to playoff hopes...maybe a bigger trade can be swung then...

I wish I get a penny for every time you boldly reject trades with no explanation.

Lets see if I can read your mind...ufff I am getting out of there...let me guess...hmm

You feel that somehow Liljegren, Jarnkrok and Timmins are all untouchable?
You want to keep them around as playoff no-shows/scratches (again)?

Forget all that...let me ask you then...

Do you think the Leafs D needs change to have a cup contending team?
If yes, what would you do?

I agree thats why I put "whatever team" in the details...although Chicago did a 2+ year retain with McCabe...very similar one?

Some are high on Niemala, I don't get it...he is like a smaller Liljegren. Dime a dozen I think...

FYA it's Murphy the Leafs could really use but I think the Hawks won't give him up for Leaf castoffs...and that said...why wouldn't the 'Hawks offer some of the way too many picks they have accumulated for a winger or two to worthy of flanking their new Prince? He seems ready.

It's because of the McCabe deal that the Hawks probably don't retain in this deal. This would result in 2 of their 3 retention slots being gone this season and next.

Doubt the Hawks trade Murphy this season. Hawks have Hall to play w/ Bedard this year and next. Nazar is probably in the league next season and he can play RW on Bedard's line. And Oliver Moore is in the wings as well. If they want to add a top 6 winger, they have $30m in cap space to use in July on a UFA. No need to give up picks.

Yes I think the leafs so try to acquire tanev at the deadline if Calgary is out of the playoff picture

And honestly that sharks trade isn’t too bad but I definitely would never do that Seattle trade cause yes lily never gets traded certainly not for a lesser defender

Ya well said re Bedard wingers, be patient…they don’t need to pay high for a Nylander or Marner either…I admit I thought he was overly hyped until I watched a few games in the past few weeks.

I hope I am wrong about Lily but ya I don’t see it in him, but to be fair he is not paired correctly and right now Leaf’s don’t have a guy he works with.

They never should have signed klingberg and lily should be playing with McCabe

I agree Klingberg, at that hit especially, shouldn’t have been signed…although I am sort of shocked as he fits in well, or at least better then I thought he would…I saw him play a a few times over his career and yikes…a tall thin more careless Tyson Barrie… but he gets pucks on net and isn’t the worst defender…still wouldn’t have signed him tho.

I think Liljegren would fit well with Xhekaj even. That type of D. He will be fine for the regular season but he and Gio can’t be a playoff pairing.

I expect them to regress this year and miss the playoffs without panicing to make it. They chose to do nothing at the deadline last year, expect them to be conservative sellers at the deadline this year.
