Highly doubt MTL will sacrifice their top pairing of the next 12 years for 1 player, even if it's Petty. Plus that's not to count they give 6th OA. We just never see this happening. The only way I can see MTL get Petty is by "upgrading" which would mean we give only 1 roster player/ elite prospect (Reinbacher, Dach, Slaf, Suzuki), and give picks and prospects on top of that, such as the next 3 1st, Roy, Mesar, ect

I think it has to.

Potential number 2 and 3 D behind Hughes, a decent prospect, 6th overall. Armia is a non factor

I get that trading Girard is for cap purposes, but come on. Throw in a 3rd or 4th, and we'll consider it.

I'm not sure about that being considered even then. There is no need to trade Girard if it's purely about cap space. Move Manson instead. Hronek fetched a first and second, Newhook a first and second. So for me G's value is in that ball park.

Dude, you gotta calm down with all those Montreal-Vancouver EP40 trades.
Calm down.

It's never going to happen. Never.

One word: rebuild. For at least 2 more years.

Enough now please.

Sharks aren't currently in the business of trading picks for mediocre goaltenders.

Yeah I agree with this in hindsight. Mason is a lot older than Girard and could possibly have more value? I'm thinking that because he was on a really good Ducks team and has won a cup now.

Especially with how much Girard has stepped up his offensive game, I def. would rather keep Girard.
