Why would Petey want to go to a non playoff team after stating how much he wants to win?

Start with Reinbacher + Dach + 2024 1st if you want a chance

He also signs for around 11-11.5M

Canucks pass. You need to check your math, that's 2 1st round picks and 3 players, 2 are former 1st round picks and one a former 3rd round pick. All that equals is 2 1st's and 3 players not 5 1st's and a 2nd.

Canucks decline. That offer isn't 5 1sts, neither Harris or Mesar are worth a 1st to them. Newhook also returned the 31st pick, so he's right on the edge of being worth a 1st. That's basically 2 1sts and 3 2nds. The offer lacks the high end A+ pieces the Canucks would look for in a Pettersson return.

On top of that you're underpaying him by at least $1.5M, maybe more, and what makes you think Pettersson would want to leave a non-playoff team for another non-playoff team. If Pettersson wants out of Vancouver to go to a more competitive team, he certainly isn't choosing Montreal as that team.

Other teams have better packages than that

Imo it would have to be something like Dach, Matheson, RHP, Roy, MTL 2025 1st and CGY 2025 1st

He has outplayed his draft position. Even if he is considered as the 2nd, that MTL '24 1st is going to be a good pick. We could most definitely trade it for 2 lesser 1sts meaning this trade is still at least 5 1sts and a 2nd.

That's a bunch of Bologna. There are some really intelligent Montreal fans but the rest of you just make stuff up.

Tell me you don't understand the value of our assets without telling me you don't know the value of our assets. No need to make it personal bud, you have no base for an argument here.

23 year old 7th dmen on bad teams don't get traded for big returns.

Durzi and Siegs both CLEAR harris and were traded for 2nds and 3rds respectively

Harris: late 3rd
Mesar: 2nd maybe
Newhook: 2 2nds (just because montreal wanted to pay that for him doesn't mean everyone else does)
2 1sts.

You could argue 4 1sts if you want, which isn't enough for Pettersson.

He was drafted in the 3rd round that's 100% objective. You saying he is worth a 2nd is completely subjective. I don't agree with he is worth a 2nd and I'm sure a lot of people here will agree. But NO ONE can argue that he wasn't drafted in the 3rd round. So continue to make stuff up if you want but its why people don't have any respect for you! It's not personal when it's actually true bud.
