You all just signed him to a 5 year deal, your moving him after 1? He's supposed to be a 3rd line scorer for the next 5 years.

He has played in one game (and he scored). May be a little early to move on.

I understand this is for illustrative purposes but I don't know that anyone covets Wood the way the Avs seemed to and nobody will want five more years of him. I think Manson goes and they find a way to fill out the bottom pair minutes cheaply.

Behrens isn't likely to escape playing at least one year in the AHL but maybe he impresses in camp and captures a spot.

Then colorado can't sign any more decent free agents because they sign ppl long term and then trade then after 1 season

I’ve actually liked what he has done and I have really liked that I haven’t noticed him defensively (that’s usually reserved for those who play poorly). You can tell he is still getting his footing and getting accustomed to playing with elite linemates. I’ve been more underwhelmed by Johansen.

This AGM is just presenting another possibility for how to deal with the cap crunch in 2024. It's pretty unlikely that CMac trades a guy he just signed to a 6 year deal, I agree. Most likely they'll need to move Manson somehow.

I agree, trading a Dman is the most likely outcome. Most likely one of Manson or Girard.

Manson's full NTC becomes a 12 team NTC in 2024 which is timed well. Also Girard has a 9 team NTC starting July 1st 2024 so the Avs will need to move him before then if he's the chosen cap casualty.

It kind of seems like Sakic is preparing for a future without Landeskog, does it not? 30 year old player missing his second straight season due to the same injury just not healing, there are very, very few players that come back from something like that.

So long as Landeskog hasn't called it quits you need to keep capspace open for the possibility of him returning. Otherwise you'll end up $7m over the cap and needing to pay to move contracts.

Byram is the linch pin if he has a 50pt season and plays solid defense it may be impossible to keep him, but I really think they might have in mind 3 top pairing guys and fill ala the 01 team, I also really hope Behrens is NHL ready at least in a 3rd pairing way next season because I think Malinski hype was pure smoke.

They are trying to teach him to shoot the puck. We'll see if he gets the hang of it after 20 games
