Both teams decline. Try removing the assets going back

You really think Brannstrom has zero positive value? Especially for a team that could use a capable young defender.

I think the Flyers would rather roll the dice with York/Zamula/Andrae on the left side versus trading down in the draft 30+ spots to acquire a 24-year old bottom-pair defensemen

Yes, I do. Ottawa has zero cap space.

And Philly doesn’t need Brannstrom anyway (even for free). They would rather play their young guys and tank a full season

Kubalik for future considerations is fine and allows us to sign Pinto. Brannstrom has way more value to us than he would to any other team. Makes no sense to trade a solid two way dman that can play in the top 4 if there are injuries. We don't have anyone to replace him in the lineup.

I don't think you understand how the NHL works. If Dorion calls Philly and says Brannstrom is on the table I guarantee they put together an offer.

Sometimes, it's very hard to get a fair or realistic answer on this site so don't put much weight in that comment.

Exactly

I'm keeping Brannstrom, not trading him like that. Just sell Kubalik for the best pick you could get, sign Pinto and that's it.

Wrote this earlier on Brannstrom :

Brannstrom was 23 y/o last season, he has averaged 24 pts per 82 games since he was 21 y/o

But offense isn't the best quality in his game, it's recoveries and quick transition. See the blue cases in that table? Top metrics, he was literally one of the best 3rd pair D-men in the league. He's way more than a "consistent NHLer", just CF as usual slow to pick up on things

I would not be surprised at all if he has a 1000+ games career if he stays relatively healthy

Moot point anyway, Sens should not trade Brannstrom at all until Kleven is ready to make an impact. He's also the only guy who could play in the top-4 in case of injury and actually be good (which he did in the past when Chabot was injured)

If they say Brannstrom is on the table Brière is gonna ask how they pay him, not how much he has to give to sit out his youngsters
