i would say as a biased montreal fan that edm gets the most valuable player in monty ( young and cheap) but the overall value is sort of equal. but i wpuldnt do it as Mtl mostly because gally will probably ends up ob LTIR in a year or 2 because of all his injuries and style of play.

I agree and overall Edmonton is taking on $27M and Montreal is taking on $22.75M. Personally I'd take 4yrs of Campbell over 4yrs of Gallagher. The last few seasons have been pretty rough for Gallagher.

Neither team does this because the better option to making this trade is to simply buyout the cap dump player on either side. Which I imagine will happen to both players some point through the next 4 years if they don't improve.

Gally can no longer skate, I doubt that falls into ltir. McDavid & mates refused to let management trade Foegele away this summer for cap.
