McDonagh is interesting, all comes down to Lohrei's development, since they only have one top 4 d spot open for years to come.

Swayman signing is solid.

Stephenson is realistic and intriguing, but ideally 4-5 years instead of 6. Not sure if he's quite the guy they need, it almost makes more sense to go all or nothing here instead of a lower end top 6 center.

I also don't see Lysell making the team next year, or any time soon. He needs time imo

Kings arent giving up two 2nd round picks for 31 yr old Ullmark with one year left on his contract. First ballet HOF goaltender Mark Andre Fleury was traded from VGK to CHI for a prospect who retired the following yr at 25 then traded from CHI to MIN with 50% retained for only a 2nd round pick.

So either make the trade: Ullmark no retention for just a 2nd. Or keep it the way that it is and add the 50% retention as well as adding Geekie or Frederic.

so from your other ACGM's you'll give up a 2nd and 3 prospects for Ullmark, or a 1st and a 3rd for Carter Hart,
yet now today it's about shooting down every Ullmark trade and a single 2nd is all he's worth?

He’s focused on assumptions where cap considerations made for discounted trades. The Kings will go cheap in goal and hope it doesn’t bite them. No harm in that unless it bites them and it likely will just like going with young centers may bite the Bruins

I would rather let Ullmark play his time out in Boston than trade him for an undifferentiated bottom 6 player and two second round picks.

The real value for him will come only with retention this year if they choose to do it.

I'd definitely give up a 2nd a 3rd and a prospect for Ullmark with retention for 2 full years of service. But for only 1 full year of service his value goes down drastically. Even with an extension you might get 3 or 4 more good solid years out of the guy if he stays healthy and that's if he wants to stay where he is at. Carter Hart on the other hand is only 25 any team could potentially get 10 good solid years out of him so yes Carter holds far more value than Ullmark does.

Fleury was an entirely different scenario. Vegas couldn't fit him in cap wise at all and then he was flipped at the deadline for a 2nd.

Kuemper, a far better comparison, went for a 1st, 3rd and a prospect.

You act as if getting a Vezina caliber goaltender for 2.5m is worth only a 2nd, 3rd, and a prospect. Ok. Good luck with that
