If someone was going to pay to help alleviate your cap issues they would've done it by now. Unlikely you could give him away for FC at this point. He's easily worth what has been proposed but OTT is in a pinch and everyone is looking to capitalize.

Sure, I agree with this. But I don't think Ottawa will have to pay to move Kubalik. They'll get something for him. If they were to just waive him, he'd 100% get claimed, so I think they could squeeze some value from a team trying to avoid missing on the waiver order.

As far as we know, Dorion might have not even started considering moving him (even though he should have a while ago)... but with the way Joseph is playing, it just makes no sense to move him at all and he also must see that they really need Brannstrom for now, particularly with Zub being injured

While injuries piling up and some teams struggling to score, the market for him is going to grow. Doesn't mean he will return his full value (which would be at the deadline) but probably something

Kubalik is a 20+ goal scorer on a 1 year deal under 3 mil. Dorian is being stubborn and not moving to save face, I suspect he’s assuming an injury. Teams would for sure take him for FC.. if they have the cap space for him.

A team will pay a mid-late rounder for him and Ottawa will accept as they aren’t going to re-sign him anyways.

Keep in mind that creating cap space is possible in many ways (unless you are in a position like Ottawa, as they already PAID to dump Murray and Zaitsev, so no more cap dumps/bad contracts)

For example, I'm pretty sure the Wings would send Fabbri in the AHL (if they needed cap space) to make a spot for Kubalik
