Boston could use a fringe top 6 wing and it looks like San Jose could really use a defenseman who can carry the puck out of the defensive zone.

Boston gets a little bit of cap relief while San Jose gets a former third round pick with some upside.

You could substitute Duran, Gasseau, Spicer, or Kuntar for Harrison or if you’d like a more NHL ready player … Steen or Boqvist

BOS needs the cap space to sign Heinen and the whole league knows it. They are going to have to pay extra for the cap space. Add atleast a second rounder and maybe a third rounder

They can move Patrick Brown to AHL and make room. My guess is Heinen wants a definitive role and the only way he gets it is if Poitras is sent down.

Signing Heinen isn’t driving any seal

Good point on Brown; I had not thought about that move

They need cap space, but the only reason they haven't signed DH is because they want to see of Poitras will hold his own with the big boys - If Poitras stays up they won't sign DH unless its a two way and assign hi to providence. Bruins wont pay a 2nd or a 3rd rounder to free up 500K to sign DH, that is just stupid.

Given the Bruins have weak prospect pool, they won't likely move Harrison until they know what they have in him or the offer is something the Bruins need badly. Bruins don't need a winger, they need more bonified centre.

I agree BOS shouldn't do that just to sign Heinen; but if signing him is a priority for some reason, every one knows they are looking to free up cap space and I don't see anyone helping without an offer pay. That's all

Early in the season and injuries aren't striking yet. The above trade for Duclair a player the Bruins don't need, they would not add a single draft pick moving a 2nd pairing D man who can man the PP and Harrison.

I agree the Bruins are being patient in many areas, but they are waiting to see what injuries come up and are likely letting Lohrei get 25 minutes a night in the AHL and then will likely make a larger push to move someone. They can move people up and down, waive them etc. Finding 250K for DH seeing as they already have 550K in space is not an issue.

Vancouver?

San Jose would rather have a draft pick in exchange for Duclair. Maybe a 2nd?

Yeah. Messed up the title. Harrison is a former 3rd round pick who’s put up over 60 points the past two years in the OHL between Oshawa and Windsor. He has a plus plus shot. Not sure he has the speed.
