Dude your team is doing fine now but with that lack of center depth they are going to hit a wall soon and lets be adults here they will be a VERY easy out in the playoffs (if they make it) A horrible pipeline for prospects to boot, Boston is a mere shadow of what they used to be.

You can’t retain on 4 guys only 3, and Boston can’t afford Hert unless we retain more and/ or take Back cap dump

So much for tanking. 14 teams do it, 1 team wins the lottery, rest go nowhere, its bad for the league and teams.

I don’t care about this year. Every Boston fan knows it’s a bridge year. 🤷🏻‍♂️

SJ has one piece in the org that would get Poitras on the table and it’s not Hertl, who i don’t really want to begin with.

SJ not touching Poitras. Nice to dream though.

Farm system rankings are a grift designed to make fans of terrible teams more excited. The reality is if you are a good team, it’s difficult to develop more than 3 or 4 pieces at one time. Most of the prospects on even the best prospect lists are fringe AhL/NHL tweeners and you don’t really know until you see it.

Poitras looks for real for example. So does that defenseman (Mintyukov) and Carlsson for Anaheim.

The guy who ranked Boston’s system last, Corey Pronman, didn’t even bother to rank Matthew Poitras and calling him a questionable pro projection, which was a joke if you watched the OHL. He did the same with Swayman. His scouting report in Owen Pickering and Mason Lohrei looks swapped for anyone who has watched both of them (I have several times).

The reality is once you get outside the top 40 prospects, I find scouting reports to be comically inaccurate usually tied to minor statistical adjustments to original draft scouting reports.

The rumors of Boston’s center demise appears overblown. You can’t teach Poitras puck handling, positioning, or instincts.

Fair in your mind perhaps and the Avs will most definitely be happy to leave that.

Poitras is the real deal. He’s off the table. I would do Merk, Lysell and a 1st. Though.

I would agree if Hertl wasn't as good as he is. Unfortunately that deal gets Hertl without retention only

Are you a transplant from north of the border or Ohio because I thought only Canadian and Columbus fan's overvalued their players as much as you are overvaluing Sturm? You seem to forget we already have experience of him and it was not a good fit.

No team is retaining on a player for 7 yrs. Hertl to Boston makes sense but it would have the be an EK 65 type of deal where SJ absorbs 8-9M in contracts coming back
