Dude your team is doing fine now but with that lack of center depth they are going to hit a wall soon and lets be adults here they will be a VERY easy out in the playoffs (if they make it) A horrible pipeline for prospects to boot, Boston is a mere shadow of what they used to be.
Farm system rankings are a grift designed to make fans of terrible teams more excited. The reality is if you are a good team, it’s difficult to develop more than 3 or 4 pieces at one time. Most of the prospects on even the best prospect lists are fringe AhL/NHL tweeners and you don’t really know until you see it.
Poitras looks for real for example. So does that defenseman (Mintyukov) and Carlsson for Anaheim.
The guy who ranked Boston’s system last, Corey Pronman, didn’t even bother to rank Matthew Poitras and calling him a questionable pro projection, which was a joke if you watched the OHL. He did the same with Swayman. His scouting report in Owen Pickering and Mason Lohrei looks swapped for anyone who has watched both of them (I have several times).
The reality is once you get outside the top 40 prospects, I find scouting reports to be comically inaccurate usually tied to minor statistical adjustments to original draft scouting reports.
The rumors of Boston’s center demise appears overblown. You can’t teach Poitras puck handling, positioning, or instincts.
