Sorry he brought back a 4th and 2 prospects which is essentially a 3rd and he had a higher cap hit then, so I do believe he’d bring back a 3rd still he’s having a great year or a 4th at the very worst which is still more valuable then a 5th last time I checked

Whats the prospect profile on Andrei Sustr?? Nesterenko is 22 with 1 career AHL point, tell me about Sustr though so we can find a comparable prospect. His cap his was also 3.5 for the trade so it was lower than you are proposing.

Yeah don't see the blues trading for Hanafin. Our 2024 1st is gonna be high so I'm not trading a potential top 10 pick for Hanafin. Also we have so many contracts on the left side it doesn't make sense to add another big one without moving out another one.

Same impression from other Blues fans, that's fair!

If we could've had Hanafin 2 season ago maybe but the way the blues have performed last year and this year makes it less likely we do any big additions. We are likely to be sellers again at the TDL.

Okay that’s fair but still a 4th rounder is better than a 5th and lot of oilers fans saying no here so are you over valuing tanev here? I think so

No Andrei Sustr prospect profile?? Klingberg was traded at 3.5 million cap hit for a 4th, a D man that was heading out of the league and AHL depth. He has not gotten better and you are trading him to a team that is selling off pieces. Severely severely mockable thought process there. There is one Oiler fan in this whole thread, if that's your basis for if a deal is good or bad would you not take the every Flames fan telling you how bad the Klingberg deal is as an indication that it's terrible?

I would LOVE to add Lindholm to the Avs at 2C, but I can't see how they would make the cap work beyond this season.

I kind of mentioned it above but explained it poorly probably. Lindholm would not re-sign, maybe that decreases the trade package a bit, but the Avs would move RyJo's four million as well as get the cap space from Lindholm totalling 6.425. Use that to approach Stephenson, Wennberg, trade for a piec etc. etc. From the other comments in this thread I don't think it's a deal that makes a ton of sense for the Avs which is too bad, cause that line up would be unreal!

i'm not sure the Avs could make Stephenson work cap-wise tbh, $4mil for your 2C is about as low as you can get. And i'm not sure Wennberg > RyJo anyway.

Simple case of the Avs can't afford Lindholm so they decline.

You are likely right, just to play devils advocate for conversation purposes, do you think that Avs would be better running out:
Mackinnon/RyJo
Mackinnon/Stephenson
Mackinnon/Wennberg

Imo Stephenson RyJo Wennberg in that order.

Stephenson fits the fast skater press play hard mode that COL likes to do.
RyJo is probably more skilled than Stephenson not as good a skater or defender but bigger and offers a different skill set that the Avs probably don’t have.
Wennberg is a very very very distant 3rd on that list where as RyJo and Stephenson are pretty close.
