MTL would return your 1st round pick in 2025 in a package that could beat that with Heineman back and a 3rd round pick that becomes a conditional 2nd if Lindholm makes playoffs with MTL playing 50% or more before whatever year you take a 2nd round pick in .

Lindholm has a dual use.
We need him and he might lure Toffoli back
Add those two to our top 6 and suddenly our top 9 looks lethal and our PP Lethal on both units.

A TB doesn't close to have the cap for this.
B. Vladar isn't needed or wanted.
C. Have a great week.

If I am the Flames, I am wanting to get rid of Markstrom, even at 50% retention to raise the price of a return. Keep Wolf in AHL for the year so he does not have this hot mess in front of him. Ride out Vladar as your starter for the rest of the season and finish as low in the standings as you possibly can. Hanifin, Lindholm, Zadorov, Tanev all need to be gone. Does Calgary's ownership and have management have the guts to do this?

And how would you suggest Tampa Bay handles their almost $8m cap overage when Vasy comes back if this trade is made? Absolutely ridiculous proposal from Tampa's perspective.

Tampa doesn't consider that. We don't have the cap space for it.
JoJo has been doing just fine in goal, actually better than we all expected to completely honest, and Vasilevskiy is on pace to return in a few more weeks. When that happens, Tomkins is sent down to the AHL and Johansson's reduced workload will be just fine for them.
ABB has somehow proved us wrong as well and is capable of playing in the top six, so we're running with it while we still can.

There is no need to fix what isn't broken, and there is also no need to have a crazy cap overage when Vasilevskiy returns off LTIR.

Hey pump the brakes a little on Barre-Boulet let's not start bronzing the plaque for Toronto yet.

Same with Minnesota. We were right up to the cap when Spurgeon and Goligoski got hurt. As soon as they're back (both expected back in the next month or so), we would be over the cap by about $5 million.
