How is Heinen only worth minimum wage? I gotta be missing something about him, right? Someone fill me in here

Sure, he can get a point or two here or there, but man.. he does literally nothing else. Gets bullied off of pucks, can’t really retrieve pucks, no defense, and not good enough offensively to justify being bad at literally everything else lol.

At least that’s how it was when he was a Penguin. Could be different now that he’s fighting for his career in the NHL, but he was pretty much just a place holder with no defined role. I’d say he’s worth a 775K flier, maybe he can do something with the right players, but odds are he’ll be very very meh.

For those asking why it took so long, the Bruins didn't have the cap space to sign him after the pre-season. I don't think the Bruins were expecting Poitras to push and earn a spot on the opening night roster. Poitras earning a spot pushed Geekie to wing (many figured he'd be the 3C). Now that the team has some injuries, there is room for Heinen. When the roster is 100% healthy I expect him to be the 13th forward.
