Flyers decline. Bryson is a cap dump and Seeler is worth more than a 5th to begin with

I pair of 2nd for Ullmark to team within the division? It's going to take a 1st rounder and then you have to hope that Ullmark doesn't have Buffalo on his NTC.

Sharks pass! Not giving up a decent prospect and a top 40 pick for Greenway. We’re rebuilding and a 26 year old average player doesn’t help us near as much as the top 40 pick could.

Fair point, sabres probably have to retain if they wanna move him. The Sabres basically gave him twice what he was worth, I think because they were close to the floor and throwing him a little extra was an easy way to reward a young player, while padding their payroll too. It hasn't aged well, he was just awful in a larger role last year.

Although i disagree with your move for Hanifin,
I do think that Ullmark is the PERFECT goalie target for us

1- he’s played here before & reportedly liked it & wanted to stay

2- he’s the right age, 30, to be enough of a Vet to help the kids grow & at the same time, not so old that he’s declining

3- and he’s signed for this year AND next, & at a reasonable Cap hit

Now, can we convince Boston to move him to us??
        Probably not

But we do have the Center/forward prospects/young players that could tempt them….

Even though it probably doesn’t happen,
it’s the right idea for sure

This better be it... I get that he's great in the locker room, but I can't take much longer of watching his slow ass reaching, getting stupid penalties, or killing plays

Not sure Greenway is worth either those assets alone

Is there a trade to build around involving Mitts or Cozens? i think Sweeney nudges Ullmark to make sure BUF is on his approved list if it's someone like that coming back.
If it's Cozens it'd involve Forbort for cap as well

It’s hard to imagine us moving Cozens. We just signed him to a $50mil extension. I’d say he’s pretty much untouchable.

I think that if most teams had a young blossoming Center like Mittelstadt, they likely wouldn’t consider trading him either….
but the Sabres are in a unique situation.

By already having Cozens & Thompson locked up (7years each), it gives us freedom to consider trading Mittelstadt.
And to add to that, we have Kulich (a 1st round pick a couple years ago who has been ripping up the AHL as a teenager) & Savoie who was a top10 pick last year (expected to get his 9game tryout with us very soon). Plus, we’ve been developing Krebs (another 1st round pick) on our shutdown line.
Mittelstadt had a breakout season last year for us, & has gotten off to a good start this year as well- BUT- we don’t have him locked up to a long term deal- YET…. so it is possible that we’d be open to moving him.

I do think we want to sign him long term though.
So it’s hard to say for sure if he’d be available- I’m truly just guessing.

But without knowing our plans for him, and obviously not knowing what your mgmt thinks of him…. it does seem to make A LOT of sense to build a deal around Mitts for Ullmark, with maybe some other pieces involved.

But again, I’m just making a somewhat educated guess here.
The Bruins might not be interested in helping us solidify our goaltending, and we might not be interested in sending u guys a top6 quality Center, who probably produces at a PPG pace for u guys playing with Pasta.
Mitts would be a great setup guy for him btw.

        So idk….?
Sorry for the long response, but i had a few beers & it’s an intriguing idea imo
