How would this lineup do

Created by: capsfan819
Team: 2023-24 Washington Capitals
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 2, 2023
Published: Nov. 2, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This would be when everyone is healthy except for Backstrom. The Canucks want to move one of their forwards for a top six d-man. They could get a top six d-man in TVR while clearing cap space. Not sure if that is a move they would consider, but it fits the bill of what they are looking for.

I think value-wise you would need to pay more unless the Canucks really wanted that space for another reason. It also just doesn't really fit great for the Canucks unless they decide that Hoglander or Garland should be playing in the top 6. The Canucks don't like how Garlands fit with their top 6.

Honestly, with cap space weirdness it's just so hard to value. With the current cost of cap space, I think it's fair, but it just wouldn't be done for less than a 2nd, and a good reason to do it I think.

Here's what would make more sense to me. TVR and Fehervary or Alexeyev (or obviously Sandin, but that isn't happening I assume) for Boeser plus Soucy with maybe a little retention on Boeser to make it more balanced? I think the Canucks probably prefer Alexeyev. The problem with you're trade is the Canuck, I think, would want someone younger and with more potential and career ahead of them since that's what they are giving up.

Canucks decline. Management was clear they wouldn’t move Boeser before the season, and Boeser was clear he wanted to stay in Vancouver. Now after his hot start, there’s no chance they move him at all. Garland is the odd man out they’d look to move, maybe Beauvillier after that if there’s absolutely no takers for Garland and they are comfortable moving him.

We are not dumping Boeser, he’s more than point per game, top 10 in goals, to the point that if you were to look at his scoring rate this year, he is a steal of a deal.
