Hart to the Rescue

Created by: GMDannyB
Team: 2023-24 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 6, 2023
Published: Nov. 6, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
They originally thought Hart would be out for a little while but he is already back on the ice today so no big worry there.

Hope everything is okay with Freddie and he can fully recover. Just would be a shame to sink another season if he can’t come back this year or in time to get right for the playoffs.
Trades
CAR
  1. Hart, Carter
Additional Details:
Canes Fans - Would you have any interest in Hart and if so what would you be willing to pay for him? At this point it’s safe to assume any Hart trade comes with an extension because it’s the only way Flyers can trade him for full value. It’s assumed he will probably want a 5x6 or 6x6 anywhere he goes. Flyers could even retain 50% of this year if need be too.

Didn't know Andersen was out long term. It probably wouldn't work out cap wise for it to happen during the season though.

not a lot. Philly's choke an opposing's offense to death by clogging the middle of the ice elevates his stats and his numbers are below expected as it is.

Hahaha... that's a massive overpay with three NHL-caliber goalies signed to contracts or PTOs as it is (Raanta, Kochetkov, Halak)

Sure you can run with that lineup. Hart/Kochetkov provides more stability imo. You do you.

Hart/Kocketkov would provide more stability but you are asking for our second-best defensive prospect on top of a first for a goalie that is going to cause cap headaches for Waddell in the offseason

Da f***k ?
Does that mean he may actually miss the rest of the season? (I'll go read up on it)

He has a .913 sv% and 2.52 GAA on a bad defensive team lol. Freddy had a .903 last year and you all said he was god. Hart had a .907 on one of the worst teams in the league. Say what you want but his numbers are not below expected lol that’s just ridiculous

So the point of this post wasn’t for everyone to argue, I was just asking what you guys would pay for Hart if you would at all. Quite frankly none of those 3 goalies you mentioned are nearly as good as Hart. Hart in front of this defense would immediately make you guys Stanley cup favorites imo. What would you pay for him?

his numbers are in fact below expected and not ridiculous.

And no one claimed Freddie was a god. lol. We all said he was very good in the playoffs, which he was.

Philly isnt a great defensive talent team but Torts' system covers for that.

I must not be seeing things too clearly. Because each time I watch Carter Hart (this season and last season) he's usually standing on his head and keeping his team in games. Even stealing them.

But I come on here and the overall consensus is that he's bum. What gives? 🤔

Seems like a reasonable price, and CAR doesn't have three NHL caliber goalies in this scenario. Raanta would be heading to PHI in this trade. Kochetkov's NHL experience is too limited to safely call him NHL caliber (plus it's not like he's shone with CAR so far this year). Halák coming out of retirement after an extended layoff is far from a sure thing either.

Nobody watches the Flyers and nobody likes the Flyers or their players. More so, nobody likes Philly sports and their fans lol. We are used to it. Everybody trades for TK and puts them on their top line but wants to trade him for like a McChicken and then lists 10 reasons why they shouldn’t trade too much for him even tho he becomes a top 3 winger for them. Same goes with Hart except goalies are even more complicated lol. Same thing happened with Provy, everyone said he was worth a 2nd max and yet they got a 1st and 2nd for him.

I know it's cliche to say, but goalies are voodoo. I wouldn't give up a whole lot, just based on that. I also couldn't find any comparable trades, and quite frankly I don't think Don Waddell will be the one to buck the trend and pay a massive amount for a netminder.

Idk what to tell you man to me looking at those stats it says Hart saves the shots he should save and doesn’t let in many bad goals. At his price that’s basically all a contending team needs. If Avs can win with their goalie and Vegas can win with their goalie. The Canes can easily be the favorite to win with Hart. He even has a strong playoff record even tho it was a few years ago. But if you think he’s below average idk what to tell you. Freddie has worse stats and like I said you all think he’s amazing.

lawd. the complex you have. they got a 1st and 2nd because they took on Peterson, not because he was worth it. nice alternative reality.

Uh they got a 2nd and Grans for taking on Petersen but nice try bud. Columbus sent us a 1st and 2nd for Provy, LA sent a 2nd and Grans for dumping Walker and Petersen.

Kochetkov's NHL experience is 35 games... that's not nothing but the big sticking point for me is Morrow... he's a big time prospect and having him+Raanta+1st seems like a lot for a goalie who isn't a top 5 goalie. Also, goalies are notoriously voodoo as hell and it isn't as sure as trading for skater

It’s like you have been a Philly fan ur whole life lol. But I’m sure San Jose has plenty of that too that “ur players are all bad but they would make our team so much better”
