No it's not, especially not with all that retention on Markstrom and taking back Palat's contract. Calgary declines.

Yes is it Markstrom hasn't been good for a while now Palat is at least good in the playoffs but is overpaid by like 2m. Nemec Holtz Bahl and a 1st is a comically insane price for Lindholm as a rental who's 3c on the devils and whatever negative value Palat has.

Take a reality check.

Palat gets paid the same amount as Marky and has 1 more year left on his contract than Marky does so no we aren't interested in swapping those 2 contracts not even without retention. Besides he's a 32 year old left shot LW, about the very last thing Calgary needs, wants or has any use for.

Holtz hasn't performed anywhere near what should be expected from a guy taken 7th OA. Bahl is worth even less a decent piece but it's due to size and toughness not skill. He's a big physical 3rd pairing guy and won't ever be anything else.

On top of all that Ruzicka isn't bad yet you completely ignored him and 50% retention on two players isn't free either.

Trades have to work for both sides not just your team's side.

Holtz had some of the best numbers in the AHL as a teenager all time and is doing very good with limited minutes this year he's 21 he's gonna be good.

Bahl>Ruzicka

I'd rather pay Palat 6m for this year and next then dump him for a 1st than have a nearly 35 year old goalie who's bad and will be the sole reason they lose games

Lindholm is a 60 point 2C without Tkachuk and Gaudreau so I'm not really seeing the value of adding a very recent 2nd overall pick who's progressing nicely and another 1st on top of it maybe you need the reality check

Bahl, Holtz, Nemec, and a 1st.... there are very few things I would pay that for and this is not one of those packages

Holtz has a higher P/60 than Lindholm.

Him and Nemec have a combined 5 ELC years and 6-7 RFA years. We're not giving that up for 3 mill markstrom, 1 year of Lindholm and dumping palat

Bahl pays for Ruzicka and the retention on lindholm

Stop playing dumb, it's blatantly obvious Lindholm would have to come with an extension for this to happen. That's just a no-brainer so why do you people keep acting like you don't get it?

Why would the devils extend lindholm at UFA prices?? they can't afford that and no reason to pay him to be a 3C. And if you're suggesting we move him to wing, why would we pay 9 mill AAV to experiment with a 30 year old at wing to be behind Bratt and Meier in the pecking order regardless, as well as Toffoli if we bring him back and Mercer long term
