Bye Bye Radulov. Hemsky + 5-6 million in cap space will do!

This likely means Radulov will not sign. Not surprised.

Similar to the Semin contract a few years ago, low risk contract for a player with the potential for a bounce back season.

Hard to be upset at such a cheap, potentially bargain signing.
I don't like that it could take a spot from Hudon (or Scherbak if he seems ready this season).
I would have preferred taking a low-cost chance on someone like Yakupov or Jagr.

Not bad, but I can't help but feel another option would have been at least equivalent.

Montreal has a comfortable $14 million in cap space with just Alex Galchenyuk in need of a new contract. Not bad.

Montreal was dumb to give Price that contract especially before trying to secure Rad or some others... Once they saw an insane cap hit like that they had their own dollar signs. Worked out well for Dallas I guess, Hemsky for the 99 cent store bargain price is hard to complain about though.

Poor Ales Hemsky. Concussions suck; he had a great career.
