Younger players with Robertson and Niemela coming to Flames. Tanev and Zadorov on expiring contracts to Toronto. Toronto on Win now. If Zadorov agrees to an extension 2nd round pick from Calgary can stay.

If the Flames are gonna blow it up to this degree the picks are going their way.

And you think any team wants any part of Markstrom? But yeah the retention doesn't make sense.

Markstrom hasn’t been that bad this year. 6th in the league in GSAx. So Markstrom + Tanev + Zadorov + retention on all 3 + a 2nd should cost more than a solid defense prospect, a middling injury prone winger prospect, an aging pending UFA dman, and an underperforming goalie

I'm agreeing with the retention part as I said, but we want nothing to do with another goalie that is signed for multiple years. Woll will presumably be the number one and we have some goalie prospects to figure out.

Fancy stats aside, and I can choose them as well, but he is 1 and 6 with a bad gaa and save %. I have seen a few games where he doesn't look set and overreacts to take himself out of position. His numbers are trending the wrong way and he will be 36 at the end of his deal.

I'm not saying the Leafs are giving up too much or anything, but this is not the deal to make.

Yet another ridiculously lopsided homer trade from the Toronto fanboi club.

Toronto isn't even giving up enough to pay for dumping Brodie and Samsonov far less get anything that has actual value in return!
