Why, you guys are in last place in the division?

Do you believe adding Lindhlom will bring Johnny Hockey back to life? Outside of that I don't see the motivation

Also if I was Calgary, I'd want Kent Johnson over Sillinger

I don't know how any CBJ fan watches this team and thinks we're just a top-6 center away from competing. Lindholm doesn't make this roster a playoff roster, Lindholm plus a rejuvenated JG puts us middle-of-the-pack, in all likelihood. There's just too many core pieces that are too young still. It's a transition year, so the team doesn't have any business buying a rental, and I'd personally rather wait to see if we can sign Lindholm in the offseason after he's moved to a contender as a rental at the deadline.

IF Columbus did make a move for Lindholm, the max package we'd offer is probably Sillinger (because he'd be redundant), a 1st (top-10 protected), and a defenseman (Peeke, Bean, or Boqvist). If that doesn't cut it, there's just not a package we'd offer that doesn't get beat by a contender at the deadline. Players like Johnson, Marchenko, etc. are off the table.

I agree it would at least make this team middle-of-the-pack THIS year, but it would also complete the center depth, give another needed veteran presence, and as this roster continues to mature in the coming years, they should become a very dangerous team. Center is the most important position on the ice, so I think upgrading Sillinger with Lindholm would go a long way.

I agree 100% with your first part

The 2nd part is fine and admittedly I have barely wathched any CBJ games so I know very little about Sillinger but, based off his stats he doesn't look very appealing, decent rookie year, serious sophmore slump and looking like he'll bounce back and get about the same amount of points as his rookie season, signs for optimism but, I'd curve my enthusiam

His stats don't do him any favors last year (as a young player in a bad system on a bad team), and this year they're extremely misleading. He's very quick, defensively responsible, and one of the unluckiest players in the league. For forwards playing 100+ minutes this year, he's 3rd last in goals above expected, at -4, ahead of only Josh Anderson and Anders Lee. He's tied for 15th-least in Goals Above Shooting Talent. He's 2nd on the team (for forwards playing 100+ minutes) in xG/60, 4th in A/60, all while being above-team-average in xGF%. The team's PDO is .991 this year...he's a decent middle-6 center already, who's very young, getting better, and one of the unluckiest players on an unlucky team that just can't seem to finish.

Cool, well if this or another similar hypothetical trade happens than I have reasons to be hopeful!

laugh Yeah i'm sure that Elias Lindholm is just dying to go to a bottom feeder like Columbus. He's not going to sign with that dump even with Johnny Gaudreau who's basically been a non factor most nights.
