Yea Isles should accept that, but I don’t know the direction that this team is heading and I doubt Lou starts selling while he’s still around

It's hardly a deal worth talking about, but I doubt Ottawa trades Chartier. He's been found money for them, I think they like his PK game.

I think its good value, but Coots loves Philly so I think he'd uphold his NMC.

Even tho the isles are in win now, a lot of the guys they get back in that trade are nhl ready, and one of them is a defenseman to replace pulock. The value is truly too good to pass up.

I'm not sure they can afford to trade Nino, the bottom six might completely fall apart without him.

Pulock is what they need but he isn't leaving NY, Couts isn't waiving either.

Had they won a cup it would’ve been worth it.

Still didn’t need such term, but ya your not wrong, a run of 3/4 top 5 picks wouldn’t be the worst thing, dman that age awful and get paid a ton, could pro long the rebuild. I’m a fan through the thick or thin, my only objection is bubble/mediocre teams forever, I’ll trade lottery for cup opportunities and back over anything else.

Yeah he’s like Gambrell’s replacement but I don’t mind him as much, he’s even a bit better defensively.

No point trading Chartier, it’s cheap reliable depth they need because too many injuries all the time

Yeah, Ottawa's just into the "does this trade make the team better now" stage.

I actually don't hate the idea of trying to get Couturier out of Philly but if we're going down that route, we need to pay the piper for some salary retention. It's a tough pill for Philly to swallow, but there's a very good chance that contract goes really far south in the next few years, and even 1.5M of retention really softens that blow.

My thoughts on the salary are if his back gets him again at some point he is likely going the Carey Price route to LTIR.
