Flyers & Caps drop out.; Devils & Pens take their place. Canucks fall to fighting for WC but I don’t see much more changing (other than order of finish maybe)

Agree on DC and Philly. For me I think once binnington cools down the blues could drop out of the WC spot and I kind of like Arizona to sneak in this year.

This year will be different as a lot of good teams started slow. I say Philly, Washington, Seattle, and St Louis drop out. And the Jets in the bubble!

Easy one to guess is Seattle since they aren't really in the position to start with, they've just played 2 extra games. Should do the list by points % rather than points.

I expect Seattle to eventually figure it out, kind of like Minnesota last year, rough start but eventually found their grove and made the playoffs

Agreed. I think theyve got enough depth to beat out teams like NSH and ANA in the long run this year

At this point I think the sabers are a hotter take than the wings

Sure but the wings look significantly better at the moment and who knows how long Thompson will be out for. Was at the sabers hawks game sunday and even though they won they got outchanced by a team consisting of bedard and 11 bottom sixers on night 2 of a back to back

With only 4 points separating everyone in the Atlantic from a WC spot that is gonna be the hardest to predict and I think 5 from the Atlantic make the playoffs and only 3 from the Metro.

Just judging by how things are plying out right now, I would say Montreal, Ottawa and Buffalo are the ones on the outside linking in and it will come down to less than 5 points for all Atlantic teams

But that's my point... The Sabres have looked bad and yet is right beside the RW in the standing despite the RWs looking good

Check the last 10 from everyone around them in the Atlantic standings, only the Habs and Wings have less wins over their last 10 games. To pull away you have to be winning more games than those around you, since everyone around the Leafs are still winning the same number of games they aren't pulling away.

Considering they started November out of the Playoff picture and have the biggest winning streak in the Atlantic while still took 2 weeks off... I would say so...

Such a Leafs homer comment, 1 good month doesn't make the season and look at the month for the rest of the teams as well. You think the standings revolve around the Leafs and what the other teams do doesn't matter?! Leafs are 5-3-2 over their last 10 games, Boston are 7-1-2, Florida are 8-2-0, Tampa are 5-4-1, Detroit are 3-5-2, Buffalo are 5-4-1, Ottawa are 5-5-0 and Montreal are 2-7-1 so over their last 10 games Toronto has lost significant ground to Boston and Florida (4 points over 10 games means Toronto finishes behind both of them) and only gained more than 2 points on the Habs and Wings, which is easy for any team to make up over the next 10 games. A truer statement would be the Bruins and Cats are gonna pull away and Toronto will be in a dogfight with the other 5 teams right to the bitter end.

🤦‍♂️... What a stupid Habs fan, never learns! They've had 2 regulation losses in the month of November, 1 shootout loss and 5 wins...

I would say that's what they started doing rn is what they started doing last year... Watch by the end if December... The Leafs and Bruins, maybe Panthers... Haven't watched them play will pull away from the bad teams like Ottawa and Montreal

But keep hating

I don't hate the Leafs, I actually want to see them do well, I just don't see their defense and goaltending as being strong enough to pull away when other teams are just as successful over the past 10 games. It's not hate, it's logical thinking and looking at the whole picture rather than a small piece (just how the Leafs are doing). The Leafs are likely to put Montreal and Ottawa behind them but the Bolts, Wings and Sabres are all still right there keeping pace with them, that is why I say they aren't pulling away.

So it's nearly the Christmas break only like 5 games remaining in the month of December. Time to take a look at those standings....

Boston clearly has pulled away from the rest of the pack being 6 points up on the Leafs in 2nd in the Atlantic. However as I predicted the Leafs have not pulled away from anyone. 7 points separate the Leafs in 2nd from the Sabres in 7th. Guess the "stupid Habs fan" knows more than the Leafs fan does. If I am a "stupid Habs fan" that foreseen this outcome, what does that make the Leafs fan that didn't?!

Boston's up by 6 points with a game in hand... On a 2 game losing streak...

Boston's next games are Jets, Wild, Sabres

Leafs have dealt with major injuries to their guys, including their starting goaltender...

They've caught up to Boston's massive gap from November

And their next 4 games are: Buffalo, Ottawa, CBJ x2

Very possible the Leafs win 3/4 of those games...

And the Leafs have also pulled away from the bad teams... With over 10 points ahead and games in hand over teams like Tampa, Ottawa, Montreal

That's a total cop-out, Habs have dealt with key injuries as well, hell most teams this year are dealing with key injuries.

I think you need to recheck the standings Tampa is 3 points behind and Montreal is only 6. You said they would pull away from everyone except Boston and maybe Florida by the end of the month. There are like 5 games left and only Ottawa is more than 10 points back. You were wrong you can admit it!
