Gonna be honest, throwing Patrick Brown in there to make Boston's return "look bigger" feels like businesses selling things for "3.99" instead of just saying 4.

Draisaitl and Bouchard will command a lot more than that. the 2025 1st should be expected to be late, Geekie is your John Doe of bottom six players, so it comes down to Ullmark and Carlo making up the vast majority of the value, and it just doesn't get Draisaitl and Bouchard.

Agree with Augustus but still don't know why bruins would make this trade. They do not need player like Bouchard and not sure why they would break the best goalie tandem in the league.
Bouchard is good offensive player but in bruins there's no room for player who can't play under well coached system.

You might be right. Brown was added more or less for a small bit of cap. While I think it's good trade in concept. I felt that Carlo could improve the team from a defensive standpoint and Geekie adds depth. Maybe it would be a good trade if Oilers got better value. You have to consider however if you packaged two 1st with one of them from Boston to move out Campbell they would have plenty of space to add Patrick Kane.

Definitely, Geekie adds depth, and would be a better 4th line center, probably, than Derek Ryan. Carlo would be another defenceman with defensive acumen, a good one at that. But guys like Draisaitl and a near PPG defenceman don't get traded together unless it's a really, truly massive return. And, honestly, losing Draisaitl and only getting Morgan Geekie and Patrick Brown back up front makes Edmonton's forward group look prettyyyy, prettyyyy, prettyyyy, pretty weak (Larry David style).

There was a previous proposal involving the Rangers, with Draisaitl, Broberg, Bourgault and... can't remember now.. going to New York for Zibanejad, Lafreniere, and the D-men Schneider and Miller... that was a little more suitable for my tastes, as it was Draisaitl and futures (maybe Connor Brown too???) for a #1C (quality wise, not 1st on Edm obviously), a 1st overall finding his game, and two solid young defencemen..

I get Ullmark is included here too, along with Carlo... but overall, I think the other one is better, if not still too little to pry Draisaitl from McDavid's hip..

Welcome to the forum mate! .. I will say, Draisaitl and Pastrnak would be an absolutely explosive duo. And other than the one year under Woodcroft, has Bouchard really played in a well coached NHL system? I dare say he could probably become a better player on the Bruins and improve his seemingly non-existent defensive game. If they can find a good backup for Swayman and let him run with it, it might not be so bad, although it would probably do a little harm to separate that tandem at first.
