Deadline deal. Henrique has been there and done that (see 2012, the Devils Cup Final run, his best offensive year). Great add for Boston, given what he's doing at his age with Anaheim still. As long as he keeps it up, not the worst, and on the Bruins, he'd be even better. But is a 2025 1st enough for 50% retention? Maybe not. Just not sure what else to add to make it fair value, that's where I need the help, I don't know the Bruins system well enough .... either way:

Ullmark - Swayman

Grzelcyk - McAvoy
Lindholm - Carlo
Lohrei - Shattenkirk
Forbort

Marchand - Zacha - Pastrnak
van Riemsdyk - Henrique - DeBrusk
Frederic - Poitras - Coyle
Lauko - Geekie - Heinen

I would do it

If you needed the cap space you could throw Geekie back?

I'd take it as Anaheim's GM with 50% retention.

Hm.. I have to edit my old answer, I suppose the B's trade Geekie over, yeah, and keep Beecher up. Perhaps the Ducks send back a 3rd or 4th for him?

No, would purely be for cap space for Boston if they needed to make room to trade for Rico

Yeah, at that point it really isn't a lot to retain.

Forgive me mate, maybe a brain fart, who's Rico??

Ah nevermind, Rique. thought you meant another guy in another trade. I think the Bruins like Geekie for bottom six depth, with old man Lucic out. I'd ask for a mid pick for him .. if Verbeek plays tough and says if you want Henrique you'll pay what I ask, then fine lol. But I'd still ask for it as the B's.

Not sure why would the Bruins make this move at that price? They need center help, for sure. That being said paying a 1st rounder for a 33 year old center is something the Bruins should not do. Keep the 1st and offer him a contract next summer if they like him that much.

Bruins should go big or do nothing but minor deals to help solidify the roster as depth. Bruins don't have a lot of draft capital or prospects right now, this move hurts them more than it helps them. If they are moving a 1st and or any other asset they should be targeting player with greater impact like Elias Lindholm etc.
