Puts Boston 8m over the cap and Lucic has full NMC.

Detroit declines.
Fabbri is a null asset at worst and Hoffman isn't worth w 3rd.

Brutal trade for SJS - loses a player they acquired in the Meier deal and loses their 1C for a single, late first.

You do realize a player, to waive his NMC (which I didn’t even bring up), must be traded by his GM?

Can you layout the logic of why the Sharks GM would consider that trade? One which they’re clearly losing and is more than one sided, but basically a gift to the Bruins.

Well that would get you under the cap. But you’d have Lohrei and Zboril as 2/3 of your left D. No RW worth anything other than Pasta until/unless Lysell can hack it.

And there is nothing there SJ wants other than 1st anyway. All those expiring contracts have zero value to SJ if done at the deadline, they are just there to make the cap work. You’d have to add something of value to the 1st.

This is prime example as to why there will be no attempt to trade for Hertl this year. Offseason maybe. Iffy then too, be other options.

You have the pick going the wrong way in the Detroit trade.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'd rather keep Fabbri!

if that was the required return for Hertl then that trade wouldve been completed a while ago, definitely costs more than that value wise

Hertl is only possible this year if Boston trades a goalie, which no one thinks they do.

My assumption is during the offseason, Boston will be in a position to sign a free agent.

I’d they strike out on a forward or allocate to a defenseman, I could see a Hertl deal. It will require more than this
