Habs pass. Wouldn't move Roy for Kakko one for one

The Canadiens would likely refuse. With how Roy played at the 2023 WJC and how he's currently lighting up the AHL at just 20 years old, we can safely expect him to play for MTL in the near future, as in, 24-25

Would Roy be available at all if the offer was right or is it just that he's viewed as untouchable? If so, what would it likely cost with the inclusion of Kakko?

Kakko's value is at an all time low rn so he doesnt sniff this.

NYR best off waiting for him to get hot to move him

It's also kind of funny, because I did a similar trade for Smilanic and Roy, before the WJC and people were saying that the Rangers would say no. Funny how things change.

Everyone is available for the right price. No one is untouchable but Roy is the closest thing Montreal has to a Francophone star since the mid-90s, so it would have to be a drastic overpay and Kakko wouldn't be the main piece

Thats cause Kakko was really improving last season. This season has been hard for him, while Roy has shown he can thrive against men.

Can't see Roy being available until we give him enough of a look on the NHL roster to see how he fits in with our core group. Can't afford to move a potential line fit with our top 4 forwards unless it's for a similarly young and better fit.

I would do Xhekaj and a second but that’s it. Maybe Ylonen or Kidney on top of that

And I dont want to sell low on kakko. We're winning with him struggling offensively, and he's still a big + defensively. Bonino on the 3rd is the bigger issue, lets see what it looks like when Chytil is back.
