It's decent for all other teams except CBJ. They are not doing that.

Edit: No team is going to take Campbell without 2024 1st.

That’s insanely good for Edmonton and bad for the habs and Jackets

Monahan against a 2020 first round pick and a 2024 fifth is not a bad return. But the Jackets' GM should indeed be fired would he accept this trade.

It’s not a bad return but it isn’t a good return. And any trade for Monahan would have a C coming back

For a rental? I'd be surprised if we got a quality C. Instead of a 3C, I'd prefer a quality winger, that could have the potential to complete (e.g.) Newhook-Suzuki-[QualityWinger] and Caufield-Dach-Slaf in the top 6. Evans plays 4C, and with some luck Beck would develop into a very good 3C by the time we trade Dvo.

And nothing prevents Hughes from making a long-term offer to Monahan this summer after he's won the cup with whoever's willing to provide the said quality winger wink

The problem is right now, we have litterally no C to replace Monahan. If we trade him, we would have only 3 C and we don’t really have someone in Laval too

And that would lower our chances of making the playoffs from 6.5% to 0%? I'm not necessarily part of team tank... But for the right return, I don't mind putting Newhook C when he comes back...

(I took the 6.5% figure here: http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL.html. Seriously, their simulation model needs tuning. I don't see how we'd make the playoffs this year.)

Newhook was horrible at C. If we want him to developp, we need to keep him at W at all cost

Apparently, Mitchell Stephens was the solution. We just didn't think about it for some reason wink
