I would say toss in LA's 2025 2nd for the retention on Saros and you got a deal, assuming this deal happens at the deadline. This would be NSH's last retention slot taken up till the end of next year and prevents them from retaining on a contract that ends this year at the deadline (e.g. Barrie, Carrier, Trenin).

I've said before that for LA to get Saros it would cost Byfield+ and this is around what I think it would cost. The retention is less than ideal, but since it looks like it is needed to get this done on LA's end due to cap I'd want another pick for it.

Saros would be a nice addition, but I doubt that the Kings would trade any of the three top 6 forwards who don't have NMCs. Ditto Mikey Anderson, Matt Roy and Brandt Clarke.

The analytics say Mikey Anderson has been pretty horrific this year, what's the eye test say on that?

I think that he's been playing well enough to stay off the trade market. The issue is on the other side, i.e., whether the Kings will re-up Matt Roy in light of the development of Jordan Spence and Brandt Clarke. With Byfield, Kaliyev, Grundstrom and Lizotte all being FA's next summer, Los Angeles may be re-thinking their commitment to keeping Roy, which most of us assumed was a given.

At least looking at 5v5 xGoals (rank among dmen), the kings have

Gavrikov (1st): 61%
Roy (3rd): 60.8%
Spence (4th): 60.1%
Englund (7th): 58.7%
Doughty (17th): 56.6%
Anderson: 48%

So his on off splits look horrific. Only brendan Smith has a worse on off split among the 177 dmen with 200+ minutes
