You are doing Edmonton a big favour here. I would want more if I am Montreal.

Monahan isn't fetching a 1st. I would be shocked if he does. 2nd is reasonable for him though.

More like a fair Deal : Habs can buyout Cambell afther the season and maybe use the pick (if he is not to high in the Draft) for dump somes contracts.

After Lindholm, Monahan is the 2nd centerman who will be available, and a lot of teams will gonna be interested on him. So, this trade is not based on his real value, but about the ''supply and demand'' concept.

Fair enough. Reasonable argument. I will need to look at all potential sellers to see what other centremen may become available. Wennberg from Seattle if they sell will be very enticing to teams also. But you might have a legitimate point.

I know Barbashev got a late 1st round pick prospect. So he may be a proper comparable also. With Monahan injury history, I think his value is a touch lower. But you are making a reasonable argument!

I dont see any team in the league taking soupy for a first.

To me, a first, third, and petrov is the minimum to even consider. With Allen going back (with picks!) i think you're selling yourself short

There is nothing likely nor realistic about Monahan fetching a 1st. Particularly with his injury history, and it certainly won’t be from Carolina.

I think the injury issues is more applicated about a player who already have a long-term contract, and Monahan will be a free agent after the season. For a low 1st + a B- young player, that's fair. Don't forget he make little bit under Wenberg, even when I think Monahan is better and Seattle doesn't really want now to trade him.

I'm rather to put out somes low drafts picks for a quality pick. Don't forgot we can buy out Cambell contract and use the 1st round pick (if he is not high) to dump somes contracts (Armia, Dvorack, etc).

I think Copp is another good comparable (2 second with one being a conditionnal first + Barron). Obviously Monahan is better but health might be an issue.

Copp got a big package that's for sure. I do think that Copp is actually more valuable than Monahan also. But it does prove the point of middle 6 centre's being in demand.

If that’s what the Oilers are offering than why bother? No point taking on Campbell for that. Second trade on the other hand…I really like Drury, and a first? Done deal.
