Arvidsson re-signing or even expected to Play this season?
Just curious about what we're looking at here

Allen still has value to us
So if Arvidsson isnt playing in MTL then we're gonna pass unless we get something

Talbot is better than Allen anyway
Not a good proposition IMO

Him not playing might make montreal take it - Allen doens't have too much value with his deal but if LA added a 3rd rounder or 2nd for retention i think mtl easily says yes to take an IR player

Edit: It just gives them so much more room to make deals cause if they move allen for a IR player they might not feel bad to get the max out of a monahan trade if they needed to eat 50% (assuming allen was dealt without retention)

So the argument is MTL will save paying someone a 4th to retain on Monahan who's on a cheap deal already?

But i got no issues getting max value out of Mony

Allen could be cheaper sure
But in todays market Goalies im good
Last year or the year before maybe you're right
But so many goalies are ****ting the bed this year
Allens boring consistency and team veteran role suddenly is what people need.

Worst Case we keep him
Our Goaltending's better off as Primeau only plays 40-50 minutes
While getting better he's not in a position to play 60 or more just yet
Not the end of the world trading Allen in the summer or next year

Im saying a team like Vegas/Carolina/NJD and top teams that are cap strapped that would want montreal to keep 50% of Monahans small contract so they can make more then 1 move at the TDL is worth more to montreal then getting extra assets from retaining on Allen
