Friedman talking Tanev (32TP): "I had a couple of people who think that Calgary makes another run to sign him, now I don't know what the likely hood of that is or isn't, but I did have a couple of who think that Calgary will try and keep him, so we'll see how that all plays out"

Friedman on #Yotes/Hanifin (32TP): "They've shown an interest in adding this year...they kicked tires on Hanifin, more than kicked tires on Hanifin, they were interested"

If you want to try and convince yourself Hanifin is in the same realm as prime McDonagh go ahead with your delusions.

I don't know if you've deluded yourself into thinking Hanifin is a top 10 dman in hockey or just have no grasp on how good McDonagh was.

Believe whatever you want it's quite clear how little you value him just like you probably didn't think much of Hampus Lindholm before he went to Boston

      Lindholm>Hanifin

And retained he fetched a playoff 1st, 2nd, 5.5 mill cap dump, 2nd, and young 7D.

So approximately a playoff 1st and 2nd or 1st and young 7D no retention depending on how much you view the retention as impacting.

And that was with a fairly reasonable contract signed at 1mill AAV less than the last reported price on hanifin, and him being one of the RARE times a UFA is actually traded with a deal in place. (only other examples from recent memory are the Seth Jones deal and the JGP deal)

In 21/22 when Lindholm was traded to Boston he had 22 points in 61 games (30 point pace), with a GAR of 3.1, WAR of 0.5, and was negative in all his RAPM stats.

Hanifin in 24 games already has 12 points (50 point pace), a GAR of 2.5, WAR of 0.4, and is positive in all his RAPM stats across the board. Especially GF%

The general league view back then was that Lindholm had fallen off but recency and eastern bias makes people forget that.

Lindholm historically had a MUCH stronger body of work.

And again, even if you want to use it as a comp, that's

1st (guaranteed playoffs at that time), 2nd, 7D with 50% retention (the other 2nd pays for the 5.5 mill cap dump of moore).

50% retained hanifin for a lottery protected 1st, 3rd, Bahl. There's your comp IF hanifin comes with a reasonable extension (sub 7 mill)

Lmao based on what? More proof that you have zero appreciation for how good Hanifin is.

I dont care at all about your offer. This is a thread about the Arizona Coyote's. I said above that their 1st + Soderstrom is far more likely of a trade if Arizona does trade for him. Geekie was never even up for debate.

No idea why you are acting like New Jersey isn't going to be a clear playoff team by the deadline. The team has 1 loss since Hischier's returned. Maybe they don't catch the rangers but everyone else is easily in reach

I assumed it was common sense that you can't just attach pretend term to a rental asset to make it seem more attractive. Any team can sign hanifin after this year, whether they trade for him or not

You understand this is a website of pretend hockey teams.. where the poster has indicated that there would be term attached in this scenario.. if Hanifin is extended as a part of the deal, no, any team can't sign him..

I've been using Bo Horvat as a comparable for trading and extending Lindholm.

So, if Colorado is interested, it would look something like this:

      1. Lindholm + 50% retention

      for

      Ryan Johansen + Oskar Olausson + 2024 1st with Top 12 Protection

      2. Lindholm signs an 8.5 million x 8 extension with a NTC for the first 4 years and a 16 team no-trade list for the last 4 years

Avs can't afford this. Not with MacKinnon's fat check and Toews's new deal kicking in next year (also the possibility of Landeskog returning). I think they're more likely to try and resign RyJo than to try and trade + sign Lindholm.
