Seems like a good fit and its solid value imo. Strome would really blossom in Colorado too imo, i just see it working

Strome one of four untouchable players on the caps right now

Strome has the same skating issues that Johansen has. If the Avs are gonna spend that much to upgrade on Johansen Id rather get a better stylistic fit

Strome isn’t a better fit with his skating issues than RyJo.

As stated above, strome isn’t moving. He’s a long-term piece of the team at this point.

I think Strome is likely to be one of the few pieces the Caps want to keep so it would require a huge overpay and as others have said he isn't the best stylistic fit in Colorado. Personally I think if Girard hadn't gone into the PAP now would be the time to look to maybe move RyJo to say BUF for something like a 3rd (just because I've seen that offered on here) and then package Girard, COL's 24 1st and BUF's '24 3rd in an offer for Danault. I think he'd be a great fit and With Kopitar and Dubois ahead of him (plus the plethora of other younger C's LA has) he's almost back to his MTL situation. He'd have to waive of course and I'm not sure whether Girard would interest them (were he not in the PAP) and it may seem like a bit of an overpay. It's a basis of an idea though. Maybe there's a three way to be made there with LA and BUF.

Strome isn't going anywhere. Could I interest you in one Evgeny Kuznetsov instead?

To me he's always been the perfect fit for an Avs 2C but unfortunately the stars (or his contracts) never aligned.

I've thought so too! Imagine him with Lehkonen and Nuke on the wings

He has playing history with Lehkonen, Tatar and Drouin as well. Could go with Nichushkin-Mackinnon-Rantanen and then Drouin-Danault-Tatar with one of them dropping down once Lehky is back. Maybe something like Girard (once he's back, and he may potentially want out), Colorado '24 1st, Buffalo 4th to LA, Johansen and LA '24 6th to Buffalo, Danault and Buffalo '25 7th to Colorado in a 3 way just for a rough framework. I've seen Buf 3rd for RyJo on here in a couple of threads early in the season. Not sure if Girard is a fit for LA though.

That would be awesome and it would give them a good solution at 2c for the future as well. It gives Calum Ritchie time to develop. Another option could be a similar package to Carolina for Jesperi Kotkaniemi. I've read he is an excellent 2 way center and Carolina has Drury who has been stepping up and they could use some defensive help. I'm not sure on the fit or if they would be willing, but it could be intriguing as well. I still think overpaying and trying to pry Danault out of LA would help the Avs

Yep, Danault is probably the only 2C I'd consider making an overpayment for.
